This is me on Wednesday.   I was lucky enough to get to meet some very talented athletes.  BT was live at the 2010 Seniors Games and while there, I got to play some bocce, participate in a round of Jeopardy and Wii bowl with two medalists.  I would like to give a great big thank you to everyone there for making me feel so at home.

Mr. Snowman

This weekend the snow was the heavy wet stuff that is perfect for making snowmen (and really great snowballs). Since I am in an apartment I didn’t think I should let that stop me from creating a friendly outdoor mascot on my balcony. I liked looking out the window and seeing my little snowbuddy smiling at me with his chocolate-candy-sprinkle mouth and his little candy eyes. Sadly, by Sunday morning when I went to check up on him, my Snow Buddy’s face had fallen off and a hole was in his body. I think someone ripped out his heart.

What She Really Said

Aisha Alfa (a professional life coach) was kind enough to help me out with one of my videos dealing with “time management”.  The video ended abruptly (because I ran out of time to finish it) and we never got to hear what Aisha really said.  So here it is, un-edited!

For the record, this line was all Aisha.  You can check out her site at (http://www.alfalifecoaching.ca/)

dancingzebra

I received this very special dancing zebra gift just last week and I love it!  So I decided to put it in the best place I could think of – on my desk next to a poodle made of golf balls.  Special thanks to Marielle and Holly.  You guys rock!

Lights off please !

I love the Christmas season as much as the next guy but the season is over and it’s time to shut those outdoor Christmas lights off . You don’t have to climb up on a ladder and take your life in your hands trying to take the lights down , just don’t turn them on. Do you still have a jack-o-lantern on your front steps ? No you don’t ( I hope), so why would you still have your Christmas lights on ? Having said that, I must admit I did find an Easter egg under a bookcase in my living room in November. What do you think about this situation ? Am I just being a Scrooge? Drop me a line and let me know , I would love to hear from you !

Chris Brinkworth Is An Old Man

30 Years Old

In other news, today is my cameraman’s birthday.  So HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRINKWORTH!!!  But more specifically, Happy 30th Birthday!

…Man, I sure wouldn’t want to be turning 30.  And I know what he’s thinking too…  “Thirty years old and this is my life.  Making videos with that schmuck, Campbell.”

Remember these fine words…

“To short days and long fiestas!”

…I don’t know…I found that on an Applebee’s menu.

Baconnaise

Evan-baconnaise

Please excuse the blurriness of this photo, but it was taken on Pay’s iPhone.  Maybe someday we’ll get to the point where a phone can take a proper picture!!!!!!  …Until then, we’ll have to just wait.  But if this photo was clearer, you’d see that in my hand is something called “Baconnaise”, which is mayonnaise infused with bacon flavour.

That’s really about all there is to say.

You can check out the video of Pay and I eating the stuff live on the show over at her blog, again taken on Pay’s iPhone.  Yeah, sure it does a lot of stuff, but still not enough if you ask me.  I’m holding out until they make something better.

Today Evan and I tried the delicacy that is Baconnaise. A bacon-flavoured condiment that does not actually contain bacon. But it does say it’s all-natural and safe for vegetarians. It smells like bacon bits. Which also doesn’t really contain bacon.

I always like having Marty on the show when he gives us fitness tips on Monday mornings. As I mentioned earlier, I have signed up for a kettlebell class at my gym. The thing with this class is that I am beyond sore. I mean…really sore. The kettlebell moves we do involve a lot of squats and squeezing of the glutes. It’s a very intense lower body workout and it was perfect that Marty was talking about stretching today! His tips for glute pain (other than stretching) include sitting in an ice bath. Yes…a bath of ice cubes. He said that long distance runners and serious weightlifters often plunge their legs or arms into ice to help relieve some pain. The other option if you do a serious lower body workout and experience soreness or pain is to lie on your back with your legs against the wall up in the air and basically let the blood drain from them until they feel tingly. Kind of like letting them fall asleep. I guess somehow this blood moving around with help.
Do you have post-workout tips? Please share them with me. I could use them.
