Catching up

Wow, Thursday already ! I hope you’re having a great week and enjoying  Breakfast television. I sitting here having some of the homemade chips that Gina Sunderland made on the show today, they’re better than store bought chips as these are not fried but baked. They’re easy to make, just slice pita bread(or any flat bread) into wedges then brush with olive oil, season with your favorite spice and pop in the oven for 8-10 minutes at 350 degrees. Just a reminder that Jimmy Mac and I will be performing two shows at Rumors comedy club this Friday night , call the club ( 488-4520 ) for ticket info, we would love to see you there ! Don’t forget to tune in tomorrow to BT as Terry and I will learn to country swing / line dance…yeeeeha ! Have a great day and thanks agin for watching BT.

What a day I had yesterday at Disney on Ice ! Jenna Kahn and I brought you our end of BT live from the MTS center where Disney on Ice is making it’s home until Sunday and did we ever have fun . I’m 46 years old and I was as excited as an 8 year old when Mickey and Minnie came through the curtain , Disney on Ice is truly a magical experience. The show times are Friday night 7:00pm and Saturday the show times are 12:00,3:30 and 7:00 pm again on Sunday at 12:00 and 3:30 , check it out !

Valentine’s day

Well as you heard on today’s show I tried to have the ultimate romantic Valentine’s day dinner. I made the dining room look like an intimate bistro with flowers and candles plus I wore a tux with tails and played waiter for my wifes arrival. We had a lovely dinner called Coq au vin that I prepared with a recipe off of our BT website ( go to BT extras and click on “recipes”), we enjoyed a nice meal and candles were lit around the house …and then I fell asleep. I was asleep by 10:00 pm and my wife stayed up and watched SNL, just call me Captain romance ! How was your Valentine’s day ? Did anything go wrong ? Let us know, we’de love to hear about it.

Long weekend

Ah yes, nothing like hearing those words,” long weekend” ! It looks like the weather is going to be nice ( no really ), I have a few commitments but other than that I plan on taking it easy. Tomorrow night I’ll be emceeing the annual Children’s Wish auction and Texas hold’em fundraiser at the Hotel Fort Garry and of course Valentine’s day is Saturday (aside from that Saturday should still be a good day). It’s always a challange to be creative on Valentine’s day even though I’m a sucker for tradition, how are you celebrating ? Drop a line and let us know, we would love to hear from you !

You viewers know I love Winnipeg as much as the next guy but this weather would make it easy to say the heck with it and hop a plane to somewhere warm ! All next week you can enter to win a trip to Mexico with our friends from Westjet, I can’t win because I work here but that doesn’t stop you from taking me with you ! I’m kidding, I don’t think my boss would understand and by boss I mean my wife. Tomorrow we have a great show coming your way with great tips for making family meals on a budget to making art from recycled materials plus so much more, hey , if you have an idea for something you would like to see on BT let us know ! Have a great day and don’t forget to tune in tomorrow .

Good Morning !

Just a quick note as I’m getting ready for todays show, today I’m joined by Mary from Anna Magazine to show the guys how to make a simple Valentines dish(watch for the recipe on this sight) without blowing up the kitchen or ordering takeout ! Also how the University of Manitoba is celebrating Black history month. Maybe I should have a segment that shows how to walk through a parking lot without wiping out and ending up on your tush ( yes, that happened this morning ). Anyways, time for the show….enjoy !

awesome recipe…trust me

Hey BT fans ! You really have to try the vegitarian chili we made on the show today ( go to bt extras and click recipes) . It’s an easy dish to prepare and we’ve been noshing it during the commercial breaks which explains the stains on my shirt. We’re heading into the weekend and it won’t be -40 for a change, it has been a long, cold winter so it will be nice to get outside. Did you happen to catch the puppy (Atlas) we had on today from the shelter ? The puppy was rescued from a northern community as they were planning a”dog shoot” where the folks actually go out and shoot the dogs, I’m sure it’s to control the population but it sounds rather barbaric don’t you think ? Well, I’m off to our production meeting, that’s where we walk through tomorrows show and discuss the segments and who’s doing what ect… have a great day and thanks for watching BT.

just checking in…

Hi there everyone ,

Today Laurie Mustard paid a visit to BT as he does every other Wednesday and basically challenged me to a boxing match ! The guy loves ultimate fighting and boxing , I on the other hand don’t get the attraction of watching two people beat the stuffing out of each other let alone pay to see it ! I guess “to each his own”, what do you think ?

On a different note, you can catch Jimmy Mac and I at Rumors comedy club for two shows on Friday Feb, 27th. Before we came to television Jimmy and I toured the comedy club scene across Canada and the States and it’s nice for us once and awhile to hit the stage and stretch our comedic legs. The experience performing for live audiences for so long comes in handy when you work in live television,it has the same excitement. Anyways, have a great day and drop a line if you get a chance !

Six more weeks !

I’m not thrilled with the groundhogs around the world on this Groundhog day. So far they have all seen their shadows so that means six more weeks of winter ! I guess we’ve come this far so I’m sure we can handle it. How do you feel about this ? Any idea how this whole groundhog thing came to be ?
